Can I just say thank you to everyone who has faved/commented on my work in the last couple of days? I never really got noticed on Devart until I started posting manicures, and now I have at least 3-5 favs every time I log in (which is frequently!). I checked my stats, and my pageviews have basically doubled in the past week. So, WOW.

Thank you all so much for your support and your kind words. It really means a lot to me.

So, you might have noticed by my recent uploads that I've gotten really into nail art. You also might have noticed that I don't update my Devart journal with any frequency or regularity. So if you want to see more pictures of nail art, more details about my designs, and reviews of stuff I've tried, then I suggest you head over to my new blog:

S.T/A.R stands for "Safe Talks w/ Acceptance and Respect." The goal of the project is to promote dialogue between individuals and groups, and to promote human rights among all groups, regardless of sexual orientation, race, religion, or political affiliation. The belief is that all human beings are deserving of respect, and that we can learn to agree to disagree, to be courteous to each other even when we don't have the same beliefs, and to stand up for each other when the other is incapable. To quote Firefly: When you can't walk anymore, you crawl, and when you can't do that, you find someone to carry you.

The logo is symbolic of our purpose, and those who wear it are those that are incapable of standing by in silence any longer, who are willing to stand up for what is right. Though we are just individuals, all coming from different backgrounds, when we stand together we form a white light of hope to those that are lost in the dark.

Though the focus of the project is on the GLBT community, we extend our love and support to everyone in need, because until everyone is safe from discrimination, our work is not done.

These are not gay rights. These are human rights.

The logo is now available on everything from tee shirts to iphone cases via Society6, as well as through the Deviant Art print shop. 50% of all proceeds will go to the It Gets Better Project.

So I've spent the last half hour trying to upload the second part of Fortune's Fight: Chapter 2 to Devart. Can I just say how much I HATE their system for uploading text? It sucks. And am I crazy or weren't RTF files allowed a few months ago? They must have been, because I uploaded two as edits for chapter 1 and 2, but I can't seem to upload a new one. I have tried every variant file that they list, and it keeps telling me that it's too big--even when it's less than half of the size of the two files I replaced chapters one and two with. Arg! Devart, I smite thee!!

I got my first real start in the art world drawing manga. When I went to art school, I wasn't thinking about fiber art, I was thinking that I wanted to draw manga-style comic books for a living. Even today, I harbor a deep desire to travel to the homeland of my favorite two dimensional art form one day.

This past week, Japan has been decimated by natural and nuclear disasters. To encourage others to help those in need, I am sponsoring a contest on my personal blog. I'll be giving away anime and yarn-themed goodies (and possibly some chocolate), so click the link to find out how to enter:…

So, I ended up with a piece of lining leather when I was hoping for dark brown normal leather. I'm hoping perhaps that someone here on Devart would be willing to trade me, even if it's for a slightly smaller piece. The one I have is black, perforated leather lining, about 4.5x2.5 feet. Any takers?

I am currently selling the following series. Unless otherwise marked, they are all the complete and in like-new condition (the only damage you mind find is some yellowing of the manga, but these volumes are in some cases up to ten years old).

I am definitely selling:

Excel Saga (boxed set)
Forbidden Dance (manga)
Absolute Boyfriend (manga)
Bubblegum Crisis
Trinity Blood (volume 1)
Angelic Layer (volume 1)
Inu Yasha movies 1, 2, and 3
Gravitation: Lyrics of Love

I am also considering selling Loveless (manga, vol. 1-8), Megatokyo (manga, 1-5), Azumanga Daioh (manga, complete), Noir, Those Who Hunt Elves (boxed set) and Yami no Matsui (boxed set).

If you are interested in any of these, drop me a line and we can hash out prices and details. I'm thinking $15 for a complete series/boxed set, but the rest is up in the air and I'm willing to negotiate. Send me a note if you're interested.
